Tikka (our first Weimaraner) was purchased in 1982 as a pet and it wasn’t until 1984 that Tikka was taken to a ribbon parade at which she won a ribbon. With this, I was hooked and in next to no time Tikka became Ch Lady Tikka of Nimbus. Tikka won a Reserve of Group at Huntly & Districts KA. From her first litter she produced a lovely boy Ch Carnmellis Acclaim (Ben) who did extremely well in the ring, being one of the early Weimaraners to gain a group placement. I had a go at agility and field trialling with Ben and he enjoyed both of these activities.
Carnmellis has successfully shown three generations (as above) of Weimaraners to Best In Show at All Breed Championship shows and made up the first and third Grand Champions in New Zealand.
Ch Carnmellis Loads A Fun (Marty or sometimes called “Daddy’s Boy”) was co-owned with Barry my brother, Ch Carnmellis Loads A Joy and Ch Carnmellis Loads A Hope were three pups we kept from Gretal’s last litter. The three of them excelled in the ring with Ch Carnmellis Loads A Joy (at 11 months) and Ch Carnmellis Loads A Hope both winning many best of Groups and a Reserve in Show each. Aust Ch Carnmellis Loads A Class was also a group winner in Australia. Ch Carnmellis Loads A Fun won many best of Groups and is the second generation All Breeds Best In Show winner.
Grand Ch Carnmellis Nifty Nina (the third generation of All Breeds Best In Show winners) was the daughter of Ch Carnmellis Loads A Fun and Ch Carnmellis Innovation (LH). At the age of eight weeks there was something about Nina that made her stand out from the others. She loved the ring and once she entered it, she was there to strut her stuff.
Ch Carnmellis Innovation (longhair) was another of the very special girls, as was her daughter. Chloe, against all odds, won Reserve Best In Show at the Weimaraner Specialty under Judy Colan (Colsidex), Best of Group, Reserve Best of Group and age group placings.
