The picture above is of Gretal winning Best In show at the Northern Weimaraner Club Champ Show under Gillian Burgoin, Ragstone Weimaraners, UK.

Gretal came to us from John and Rosemary Mayhew in Australia.  She was an exceptional show-girl, being the first Weimaraner to win a All Breeds Best In Show and went on to become the first Grand Champion in New Zealand.  She was a lovely girl and produced us some lovely puppies.  From her last litter we ended up with Ch Carnmellis Load's A Fun (an All Breeds Best In Show winner), Ch Carnmellis Load's A Joy and Ch Carnmellis Loads A Hope (both being All Breeds Reserve In Show winners).

When Dr Werner Petrie judge the Weimaraner Club Championship Show in Auckland, Gretal was placed Reserve Best In Show and was awarded a grading of  "Excellent", which in those days was cherished.  At a field trial the next day, Dr Petrie commented at the close of proceedings, that of all the dogs he had seen run on the day he would like to take Gretal home to do field work with her.  At a latter time she did attain her Qualifying Certificate in the field.
